English Federation of Disability SportWelcome to February's newsletter. This edition features the Tennis Foundation's new programmme, FA Disability Cup and a new boccia guide.


Blog: “I got here with strength and willpower”

The English Federation of Disability Sport (EFDS) website features a blog post every Friday. This year, we'll be sharing the experiences of disabled people involved in sport and exercise at all levels, finding out what impact being active has on their lives. Here, 14-year-old Isabelle Weall, who is a quadruple amputee, tells us how she found a love for trampolining.

Sport for Confidence and Boccia England produce guide

Social Enterprise, Sport For Confidence, has partnered with Boccia England, the National Governing Body for boccia, to produce an evidence-based guide. It is endorsed by The Royal College of Occupational Therapy, detailing how boccia can be used as an assessment and intervention tool for occupational therapy practice.

Tennis Foundation launches new junior futures potential programme

Seven of the country’s most promising junior wheelchair players have been selected to be part of a world leading new programme designed by Great Britain’s leading tennis charity, the Tennis Foundation to help them progress towards future international success.

GreaterSport's new campaign aims to reduce activity gap for disabled people

With disabled people twice as likely to be physically inactive than non-disabled people, GreaterSport is committed to improving inclusivity within Greater Manchester physical activity and sport provision. They have launched a new inclusion campaign for sports clubs across the region.

FA Disability Cup returns to St George's Park

The FA Disability Cup returns this summer with England’s top grassroots teams competing at the national football centre, St. George’s Park, on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 June.
