Weightlifting, or Powerlifting, is a strength sport which involves lifting specified weights, and both males and females can take part.

In competitions, competitors are allowed three attempts on each lift, and the best attempt counts toward his competition total. If two or more lifters achieve the same total, the lifter that weighs the least ranks above the heavier opponent.

There are variations of weightlifting, such as Squat, Bench Press and Deadlift, and all involved different methods of lifting, lift requirements and causes for disqualification.
