    Tuesday 14 April saw the Level 2 School Games Girls Touch Rugby festival at Avon Valley College. The day started with the year 7 and 8 girls from Avon Valley College and St Edmunds warming up by taking part in SAQ stations. Weightlifting, or Powerlifting, is a strength sport which involves lifting specified weights, and both males and females can take part.

In competitions, competitors are allowed three attempts on each lift, and the best attempt counts toward his competition total. If two or more lifters achieve the same total, the lifter that weighs the least ranks above the heavier opponent.
