New Table Tennis Satellite Club at Matravers School

Matravers satellite club poster for coaching and practice.jpgThe West Wilts Table Tennis League found themselves homeless with no where to play, as were unfortunately no longer able to use the gym at John of Gaunt School, after many years of playing there.

Matravers School kindly offered them a partnership to be able to use their premises and for the League Coaching Staff to offer the School some Table Tennis coaching.

In our discussions with the school , Table Tennis England’s Lee Monk and with the support of Simon Woodhouse from Wiltshire and Swindon Sport (WASP) it was suggested that a partnership Satellite Club be formed with the purpose of encouraging the pupils at Matravers School and surrounding area  to play Table Tennis and perhaps continue to play after school at a Local Community Club.

We are please to say this has now become reality and the first after school coaching sessions from 3.15-4.15pm began in early November and the first FREE weekend coaching session begin on Sunday 12th November at the school sports hall and will run for 6 weeks.

This will be reviewed and I'm sure will continue in the new year. The coaches involved are all Table Tennis England approved and really happy to be able to offer the young people in the Westbury areas the chance to play Table Tennis and develop a love for their Sport.
