English Cross Country Association Saucony National XC Relays

Mansfield hosted the traditional start of the cross-country season with its usual mix of mud on the top field and faster paced surfaces though the undulating woods making for an action-packed Saturday. This is the 31st time the championships has taken place and as it has done for more than three decades now, it proves a useful marker for athletes, coaches and team managers as to how things are progressing.

England Athletics 10k titles awarded

Once again the Age UK Leeds Abbey Dash proved a popular choice for club runners looking for a high quality field and a fast 10k, with Sunday’s race living up to its billing.  And neither of the two new champions were favourites going into the race. In addition, 189 predominantly club runners broke 34 minutes, and 29 athletes broke the England Athletics road running development standards.

Dudley Garner scooped the award for RunTogether Leader of the Year at our recent National Volunteer Awards.

Dudley truly is an inspiration, overcoming immense adversity and proving just how positive an effect running can have on a person’s life. From an individual who was a non-runner, Dudley’s car accident has eventually led him to the Athletics and Running Community, and the impact he has on his local community is massive.

He shares with us his inspiring story that led him to this great achievement.
