WASP have a number of workshops taking place across the county with the aim of supporting and up-skilling the coaching workforce.
Emergency First Response Course
Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR) course. This is valid for 2 years and is a Minimum Standard of Deployment requirement for coaches in Wiltshire.
Please be aware that the Emergency First Response course involves moderate physical activity, including kneeling on the floor, bending and administering CPR. Participants must be able to complete these practical elements in order to pass the course.
Safeguarding and Protecting Children Course
Every child deserves to enjoy their sport. This UK Coaching workshop will raise your awareness of the tell-tale signs of abuse, and give you the tools and confidence you need to deal with any issues sensitively, appropriately and effectively should the need ever arise in your coaching career.
You will be able to:
- identify and recognise good coaching practice and the implications for your coaching
- explore your values and feelings in relation to child abuse, and recognise their potential impact on your response
- recognise and respond to possible signs of child abuse
- take appropriate action if concerns about a child arise.
