School Games Level 3 Rugby 7's Competition

DSC 0155Trowbridge Rugby Club provided a great venue for School Games Rugby 7's on the 20 April with the sun shining down and the pitches in perfect condition.

Year 7 pupils from Wellington Academy, St Johns Academy, St Augustines, Kingdown, Wyvern College and Sheldon schools took part in the round-robin competition which saw a very high standard of play.

There were 4 Young Leaders from Royal Wootton Bassett School and they were a real credit to the school, carrying out their officiating tasks very professionally and confidently.

Ceri Large who represented the RFU was a great inspiration to the athletes. She is a member of the woman’s world cup winning squad and took time to chat to the athletes and share her experiences with them and give them encouragement to achieve.

All the teams played with great team spirit and it was encouraging to see everyone showing such sportsmanship throughout the competition.

St Johns won all their matches and were overall winners with Sheldon School coming second. It was a close competition for 2nd& 3rd places, both teams only suffering one loss, to the eventual winners.
